About the Position

As a social worker at Athena Group, you will provide support and treatment to young people with psychosocial issues combined with neuropsychiatric disabilities. We are organized based on milieu therapeutic principles where the primary task is to arrange the environment through clear structures and credible relationships, allowing young people and their families the opportunity to work on their own development. Teamwork is a crucial success factor and creates good conditions for individualized and sustainable interventions for the youth and their network.

In this position, you will work with the youth in their daily lives at the residential care home, which means a varied and stimulating job. We work from an integrative theoretical perspective, which means we draw knowledge from several different theoretical perspectives and methods to gain a more complete and holistic understanding of the individual.

To work cross-professionally and provide the youth with equivalent treatment and response around the clock, you will work as a social worker both during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends.

Examples of Responsibilities:

  • work closely with the operations and participate in daily activities
  • therapeutic tasks, such as individual conversations and parental/network support
  • be responsible for establishing, implementing, and following up on action plans
  • offer credible relationships to the youth and their families to provide opportunities for development
  • collaborate with the youth's entire network, such as schools, social services, and psychiatry
  • work and document in the existing operational systems

About the Workplace

Athena Group is a treatment home for young people aged 13-18 who need social support and psychological treatment. The workgroup consists of managers, assistant managers, social workers, support educators, and support assistants. With us, you are welcomed into a stable organization that is passionate about improving the daily lives of young people!

The facility is located in Mellringe and consists of eight treatment places and two outpatient care places. Athena Group is one of three residential care homes (HVB) for youth in Örebro Municipality. The operation started in January 2020 and is run in collaboration between the Social Services and the Disability Services, both part of the Social Administration.

Qualifications

As a social worker with us, it is important that you are calm and secure in yourself. To thrive in the workplace, you should be someone who prefers to work in a team, but you should also have the ability to independently drive your work forward and take responsibility for your tasks. In this role, it is important to be attentive in your interactions with others and to be able to understand others' perspectives and situations without losing your professional integrity. It is also important that you can adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes.

The work requires good communication skills, which means that you can express yourself clearly and structured in both speech and writing, and that you can adapt your message so that it reaches all concerned. Furthermore, good computer skills are required as the work involves documentation.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • degree in social work or other education deemed equivalent by the employer of at least 210 credits
  • driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle
  • documented experience in treating children and youth

Desirable:

  • experience in treatment work at HVB for youth
  • experience working with individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities within LSS operations

Scope and Start Date

Employment type: permanent position

Working hours: day, one evening a week, and every third weekend

Employment rate: 100% (38.25h/week)

Start date: as soon as possible by agreement
